Don't bother. The stock one is good for up to about 500 hp. That money is better off spent elsewhere.

Big powa and big cubes with a 90/90 or bigger you can pick up some. Otherwise not worth it IMHO.

put the money toward some bolts ons that will get you some power, good tires, suspension, etc.

Here's something else for you to consider when buying an aftermarket MAF: SLP and Granatelli units seem to have the same internals as a stocker with a resistor strategically placed so that your air fuel ratio will be altered so that you can "make more HP" (as they like to say). Think of those ripoff IAT sensors from ebay, $50 for a resistor that essentially dumps fuel into your car. My friend did an LS1 swap into his 87' GTA recently. When he wen to get it tuned, they said they wouldn't do it until the stock MAF was put in. This was because the aftermarket MAF (I can't remember which one, I want to say SLP) had a resistor in it that prevented the tuner from getting the best measurements (because after all, it was already altered). The stock units when in good working order are very sensitive, quality pieces of equipment. I'll also say what others above have said, put your money elsewhere. If you really want to waste money, call SLP and tell them to send you their MAF with their smooth air bellows.

Waste of $$$. You can easily run 10's with the stock MAF.
When you start making serious power, just eliminate the MAF all together
and do a speed density tune.

and just to ask. have you had anything done besides a lid? because other wise there isnt much to be had from a tune then either. atleast not at this point...
