I want to quiten up my exhaust a little. I have a plan to buy a magnafloe 4" round 3"in/out muffler to put right behind the y pipe then a cutout after that. When I want it to be loud but not crazy loud I will open the cutout. Any thoughts on what you guys think it would sound like? Will this elliminate rasp?

Its worth a try anyways the mufflers are only 70 bucks. I am going to do it and I will post up sound clips afterwards for you guys.

many put on a Magnaflow / DynoMax / Borla in that spot.It does reduce rasp and sound good.

New 408 with ARH headers and Borla cat back is way loud,
looking for somthing more low throaty sound. Would there be
any clearance issues with Adj torque arm etc?

I'm running a magnaflow canister muffler on my LS1. The car sounds mean with this on it. No cats, no resonator, just 3" piping to the muffler.

I just installed my ARH's and ORY with my existing TSP rumbler catback and was really considering doing just about what you did. Only I was just gonna cut out the resonator and install the magnaflow muffler there and let it continue out the rear hoping to eliminate the rasp. Anyway, how is the ground clearance for the muffler?

I have a borla xr-1 dumped off the y-pipe. Its wicked loud both inside and outside the car, but sounds good.

i'm curious to hear one of these. tried sticking a bean can off an integra in my cutout once but the mufflers inlet was like 1.5" smaller than my cutout so it didnt really work.
