Default Hood and Paint

My stock hood is not original, and the black paintjob is pure garbage. Red paint is showing through and the wetsand job looks like ***. I'm getting another stock non-ws6 hood for free. Its black already. My question is, my car is a 1999 trans and the hood is coming off of a 2000 formula. Were there any differences in the paint codes for black or any other color from 98-02? Will the black paint on the 2000 hood be the same as my 99 black paint. If its not, I might as well just get this current hood repainted instead of having 2 useless hoods.

Regardless of whether or not the color codes match, there could be a noticable difference from just sun damage. I got extremely lucky to find a perfectly matching piece for my car (spoiler) but it's a metallic that was well taken care of before it was removed from the car. I'd say just go ahead and try it. If you don't like it, you could sell one of them for about $50.
