4.10 daily drivers?

4.10 daily drivers? Who here daily drives a car with 4.10s? What gains can I expect to see with 4.10s on a full exhaust/intake LT1? How much worse is highway mileage? I get about 260 miles to a tank on average, i'm curious to how that might change if anyone has any input on this I appreciate it.

I have 4.10s in my daily, and last fillup I netted 27mpg (mostly interstate, some highway/curvy roads). I average ~24mpg driving on our curvy TN roads, mainly due to the fact I can get up into 6th at 47mph. I have gotten up to 31mpg on long trips with 3.73s, but I havent went on many long trips with the newer gears. This is all with the shorter geared M29 T56.

You wont loose much on gas mileage, unless you cant stay out of it after the install 
You still have 6th gear, which will always help the gas mileage. Daily driving it your just going to have to shift more, that would really be it. Oh, and lay into it more....

Well I cant chime in with experiance with a LT1...but I did DD a 00' GMC shortbed reg. cab with a 6.0 for about 2 years with 4.10's. And it was the best decision I ever made. Fuel milege actually picked up around town because it could cruise easily in OD...not bogging. And I saw no differance on hwy milege...I say go for it. I have 3.73's in my Camaro now that I DD....and its a A4

I'm looking at the Motive 4.10s. and the installation kits. Which one of these installation kits do i NEED to have?
* Basic Kit: Includes pinion shims, crush sleeve, pinion seal & cover gasket
* Complete Kit: Includes pinion shims, carrier shims, crush sleeve, pinion seal, pinion nut, ring gear bolts, cover gasket, and pinion & carrier bearings
* Deluxe Kit: Includes pinion shims, carrier shims, crush sleeve, pinion seal, pinion nut, ring gear bolts, cover gasket, pinion & carrier bearings, PLUS wheel bearings and seals. (All of the small parts and pieces necessary to RESTORE an axle to like new condition!)

I'm going to 410 mine too when i get the cash. It'll probably be next year. I want those probably just before my cam swap.

I did my rear-end swap a few weeks back. Moser 12-bolt with 4.10's. I love it for my DD. Gas mileage doesn't seem to be affected much. Just using 6th gear more in city driving now.
Be careful putting money into that stock 10-bolt though. I was contemplating the 4.10's on my stock rear, but decided to just upgrade the entire rear. Figured less of a chance to develop a gear whine and also much less of a chance of destroying those gears.
4.10's and the 10-bolt don't go well together...

this isn't necessarily true. a well setup rear end should be just as strong as a 3.42 rearend. you just have to have someone do it who knows what they're doing.
yea 4.10s are a little more prone to break, but unless you're going to the track weekly or doing hard launches all the time, i wouldn't worry about it. even running radials.
