Default underhood temp question re: coated long tubes

crazy question but when you changed from stock exhaust manifolds to coated long tube headers did you notice if your underhood heat/temp went up or down? Thanks

Has anyone experienced a change in under hood temperature after installing long tubes?

No way temp would go up. Stock manifolds just cannot dissipate heat that well.

Honestly on my GTO the temps went up. Then again us Gtos have heat soak problems.

Hell yeah it goes up. PART of why I am putting a bigger radiator on tomorrow night after work.

Wow..so the under hood temps do go up with long tubes..does it matter if they are stainless or coated? I can't afford hotter under hood temps as I bracket race and as you go rounds there is less and less time to cool... it's a problem.

I could tell a temp change just by lifting the hood.

Stainless headers here (not coated), and the temps went up noticeably, but never measured the difference.
