Question What new car for the GF...?

K guys, the GF is getting tired of her current ride and has the itch right now to buy a new car... she wants a sports car that's got at least around 260hp

Her first choice is of course the new camaro... but the catch is, whatever car she decides on can't be more than 30k out the door... and I've pretty much told her it's a waste to get the camaro unless she can afford the V8 version...

we just got finished test driving a Saturn Sky Redline (the turboed 4cyl. version)... and she absolutely loves it... and I must say I enjoyed the car as well, but I'm not too thrilled about the amount of room it has in it... I can deal with the room inside the cab... but the thing doesn't even have a trunk worth a darn... so long trips with luggage are out of the question.... (I know the Solstice is a bit cheaper, but she absolutely didn't like it after seeing the SKY)

so what else is out there along this type of car line that we can go look at?

Sports Car, Muscle Car... basically FAST car... not 500 rwhp fast of course, but faster than a sedan lol...

Good looking car. Aggressive looking... head turner...

nothing over 30k out the door...

Sky/Solstice GXP is a good chick car. It just about nails your requirements perfectly.

it's just the damn trunk issue... I mean we'd probably wanna take this car on long road trips to Carmel/Monterey/Santa Cruz etc... and there's no place to put luggage lol... how ridiculous

Mazdaspeed3 (turbo 4cyl FWD) is a great car for those criteria. lots of room and its pretty damn quick, will do mid 13's with an intake a decent driver.

The sky redline seems like a good choice but I like the M3 idea...just explain to her that BMWs hold their value better than any other car, and a low mileage one would still be under waranty...all you pay for is tires and coolant.

Yea thats true...I looked into a couple and they all were still under factory warranty, and under factory warranty all you are responsible for is tires and coolant. they even do your oil changes.

Great car. Fun to drive and would be OTD around 23k and I used to get 25mpg average in it.

Saturn Sky Redline turbo, 260hp/260tq. I drove one and they pull pretty hard. I y=think she'll like it. The Redline comes auto or stick
