I agree. Prepare for the onslaught of letters from attorneys. Hire one soon. The sooner you do, the sooner he can begin the process. If you get the full policy, you make his insurance rate go up. Big deal. You get more and he has to pay you, then he will feel it.
I hate to sound bitter, but been there, done that. Last time I rode I spent 4 days at ORMC. Used a walker for a month. Drunk pregnant female. Ugh.
Miss my bike, but too many stupid people....

Damn man, got hit by a old dude in the down season. I saw a wreck February 07, old New Yorker lady that could barely get out of her car cut off a Harley, bike rider flipped over the car, but was able to get up. There was a garage near by, guy came out said he takes his GSXR off the road from October to April, just for that very reason. Well you are alive, so that's always good, that sucks got taken out in the summer, expect to hear this stuff later on in the year, then again I guess that's a old folks town over there?

Sorry to hear of your accident man. I hate for it to sound greedy as well, but, get everything you can because you hopefully will heal up and be alright. Although, when you hit old age the long term effects could start causing trouble walking, kneeling, doing whatever. Nobody will remember or care why your sore then. You'll just have to deal with it.
Everything else has already been said so, to add something new......
6-8 weeks on your ***? I hope you like TV and being on the forums! At least you'll be totally caught up with everything on here.

You need a good atty and a medical plan to cover your injuries for life. $300,000 is peanuts when you start having major medical bills. I have been down this road and when handled properly you can rest assured your medical needs will always be taken care. I hope you are already consulting with an atty. Time is of the essence.

Another reason why the elderly should be required to be retested for their DL every few years after a specific age. Can't tell you how many times an elderly driver has almost hit me or violated my right of way (almost causing an accident)on my bike cause of their aging impairments. Or better yet my buddy who lost his leg from his knee down cause some old 76 year old fart claimed he didn't see him while driving through the intersection. Hope you are ok bro, permanent injuries arise weeks or months after the accident.

Here me when I say this, GET AN ATTORNEY IMMEDIATELY. Shop them out and find one who has experience in motorcycle claims, I had a half *** attorney that was a friend of a friend and he got me 25000 dollars out of a 100000 policy, then I had to pay him, and my medical, so I was left with JACK. I went through 1 month of laying on my back on a medical air mattress with air conditioning and all it was expensive to say the least, I have a pinched nerve in my lower back around one of those damn numbered discs, I can't remember. When I finally could get back on my feet and out of the house, I had 5 months of therapy and treatment, from a back specialist. 4 times a week i had to go to therapy, my back still hurts from time to time and it will never go away without surgery, AND if I opt for surgery there is that awesome little 50/50 chance I could have more damage done trying to fix it than it was already. So with that being said, shop around get a GOOD attorney and take his *** to the cleaners because you will hurt FOREVER, regardless of what ANY of there representatives try and tell you, oh and this womans insurance was geico by the way.
