Each cylinder to TDC, tighten and turn the pushrod with your finger tips, should start feeling some Tention in the pushrod, and that's pretty close, you want the pushrod to turn with a little effort...and like 1/4 turn or so for the cusion.....Did mine once last year..had Mike and the guys at G-Force install in 1.6RRs though...it was a PITA for me the 1st time

The spin the pushrod method causes a lot of headaches. With a polylock you just spin it down till it touches, not even really finger tight. Then say you want 1/2 turn lash I would tur it 3/8 then spin the set screw in and then once it contacts turn the set screw and nut together just a little more.

With all the oil and smooth surfaces but the time you feel resistance spining the pushrod you are beyond zero lash.

Zwero lash is when the pushrod no longer moves vertically between the lifter and rocker. Play with that while you spin the polylocks down by hand. You will quickly learn where zero lash is.

I just went through the same problem with a set of 1.6 cranes. Luckily I had a buddy that is a REAL mechanic and he adjusted them for me. 96capricemgr is correct, you may have to give it a couple of trys. Err to the loose side, you can always go back and snug them up

I did mine once when I put the motor together at 1/8 turn past zero and haven't had a problem since.
