The LTs might be illegal straight up to even have, even with cats in some states. If all you have to pass is some sort of test then you can get away with just putting cats after the collectors on the LTs. Mufflers would be your choice, depending on how loud you want it to be (or can even have it).

yes they are illegal but all I hear that LT will make a big differance in power so i'm concidering do them I do have to smog test it but it won't be no problem for vision inspection. do you run a Y-pipe then 1-cat or cats after collectors like you said but won't they hang to low ?

You CAN put dual cats (one on each collector) on LTs and it will most likely pass if you have to hook it up to a machine (and dont have some god awfully large cam).

If your really sold on LTs then thats what I would do, but mids arent as bad as you think....And those AS&M headers are great quality.

There will be a difference, since LTs usually have no cats and they just simply get the air out quicker. The difference wont be huge though, and if you need to stay legal just get the mids you wont be disappointed.

If your looking at mids, I would go with the as&m... Very good quality mids.

There might be, but again it will be very small. You would get more than say, an average person running a bolt on or completely stock LT1 and doing the same thing simply because you run a 355 with heads/cam. More air out quicker means more power. So yes, there will be a difference but would it be worth the money? I am not so sure. This would be something I would be very interested to see on a dyno (before and after, with a larger cube/heads and cam setup).

Any header that is C.A.R.B. certified should be a non issue compliance, after all it stands for California Air Resources Board...
