Default I need height measurements on electric water pumps

Anyone help me out?

Heres what I got....

Meziere heavy duty pump, sticks out 2 7/8" from the rear of the pump mount.

I have a Griffin THICK aluminum radiator, no way in HELL the factory fans are gonna fit, If a CSR/CSI, Summit pump is shorter I can make them work by trimming the shroud on the top fan. I need about an inch shorter than what I have now and I can make it work.

The fans I made up and put on the car are not enough fan, it runs warm in traffic, once I get moving the car cools off fine, I need more fan.

Anyone?

When bolted up, my CSR sticks out 2 5/16 from the front of the water pump housing.

DAMN! Thats only a 1/2 an inch, I need an inch! AT LEAST!

Seems like I have seen one that was considerabley shorter that my heavy duty Mez, but cant remember what it was. This damn Mez sticks WAY out is actually sitting against the shroud with the fan removed...I got some thinkin to do!

Dave check your PMs

You using a stock replacement radiator?

I have one corner of the shroud trimmed and a CSR puimp it touches all the way to the fan mount.

I do have your harness. Ready to go

Heres what I got, Griffin THICK radiator and a Mez HD pump, no room at all for factory fans. The fans I had on the car dont move enough air at idle in traffic etc, slow speeds.

Hwy speeds, does fine, 160 t stat, runs 170 ish. Even in the hottest of hot days.

Tells me I need more fan, the stock fans are probably the best setup out there I just got to figure out a way to get them back on there.

I have no way of running the factory water pump.

I think I can get them in there with an inch clearance, IOW a pump 1 inch shorter than my 2 7/8 Mez HD pump.

Are the corners cut at a 45* angle?

That will give more clearance with the angle of the radiator, the Mez is boxed off at 90*

I also run a Griffin heavy duty rad. 31x19 1 1/4 2 row, it's been a while since I installed it. I also use a CSR pump. Granted I have more room but, I used a fan from a late 80's camaro, a single fan and have no issues cooling my lt1.
A single fan may be an option and they do make them thin or slimline. Most come complete w/ shroud

Ok I got my CSR pump, it is EXACTLY 1 inch shorter than a heavy duty Meziere pump. 2 7/8 for the Mez, 1 7/8 for the CSR. Measured from the BACK of where the mount bolts go in to the rear outer edge of the pump. Which is what comes into play with the fan shroud.

What I didnt realize about the CSR is you have to modify the pump housing for it to go in, in 4 places you have to make cutouts for the pump to slide in.

It might work I think.
