My best was a 13.6 a few months ago on a slipping tranny and the OPTI was on its last leg. I am disapointed!!! also the car felt like it would miss here and there at high rpms. Any suggestions to get my times down? i am going to get some 3.73 soon but what else would help?

Ditch the hypertech and get some sticky tires.

You should ET in the 13.7 range as is with a 2.0 launch, though. Not bad for a horribly geared and exhaust only auto.

You need drag radials bad. Just keep practicing. If your not red lighting, your not trying hard enough. Also think about weather conditions.

im guessing your rear rim is 18-19 inch

i would go down to 16 inch rim at the rear. Would gain more torque, help your time a lot.

When i was at the track i had my friend put in drive and hold the brake to see if i could see any of the plug wires arcing off i also had him rev it up and i didnt see anything. I replaced my plugs, wires, and OPTI. Do you think it could be the COIL? i am looking at buying the MSD 8226. I think it might be that. My last pass it wasnt as bad.

You were at least taking a good chunk off of your ET every time, so you were progressively getting better. If its missing up top it could be your opti (what kinda opti did you use for a replacement?). It could also be a number of other things (cut wire, one bad wire, coil, ect...).

If you dident see any arcing on the wires themselves, I think it would be time to check the opti. (And get some DRs, of course).

yeah i was thinkin also it might be the OPTI. I got a ACDelco replacement OPTI and replaced the Old one about 15K miles ago! but like a Dumb *** i didnt replace the water pump which just went out like 1k miles ago and it was leaking out of the weep hole all over the OPTI. I bet thats whats wrong!!

I think its fine now i think it dried out its not missing at WOT any more. I found out why it wasnt shifting from 2-3 i was low on tranny fluid. it pulls a lot harder now and has no problems shifting into any gear. My Bad for not checking!!

You cant win em' all

Sounds like you got a bit lucky and the opti dident get soaked, they do dry out just not usually. Its just a question of the electronics and all and how bad it got wet, but you will know for sure before long.

I had a high RPM miss awhile ago. When I was racing, sometimes it would happen once or twice every gear towards 5k. It was almost like the fuel just cut off for a .0025 seconds or ignition. I found my MAF 12v wire was nearly cut all the way through, was barely held on. I replaced the harness and have not had an issue since.

well i tested her out on the freeway i did a couple of hard pulls and it isnt missing anymore so hopefully its GTG now. I also was low on Tranny Fluid so i filled her up. she seems to be running fine now. She pulls a lot harder now that i filled the tranny fluid up to the correct level. I am going back to the track hopfully this week. I have new LCA's, panhard bard, and 3 point subframe connecters on the way i should have them in before i hit the track this week. WELL SEE WHAT HAPPENS!
