lt1 or lt4
my next car is gonna be a ta either 96 or 97. i was just wondering if its worth it to swap the lt1 w/ an lt4. if anyones done it and liked it or hated it. thanks alot guys, love the site

IMO, the ONLY advantage of the LT4 stuff is that, stock for stock, the LT4 head castings are better than LT1's. However, with the AFR stuff out there, you could just go that route and they do better than the LT4's. Also, the LT4 intake has a lot more meat above the runner so you can raise the runner roof's quite a bit, which is good for power.

Converting to an LT4 would be a real huge waste of money IMO. A heads/cam package from Lloyd Elliot or Ai are cheaper and exhibit gains that blow the LT4 kit away.

It also came in a few SS's and Firehawks in '97 and was balanced and blue printed by SLP. 29 Hawks were built with that motor and I want to say 100 SS's.
