just found this. would this first of all work in my 98 ls1 and second would i see any power increse?

GM Camshaft Part # 12561721 has never been installed. It's the camshaft for 2001 - 2004 Corvette LS1 and the LQ9 6.0L 2002 - 2006 High Performance Cadillac Escalade. This would also work great in the 4.8L and 5.3L Engine. Would be an upgrade for earlier LS1's in the Corvette, Z28 Camaro and the Trans Am Firebirds.

Specification on the camshaft:

Intake- 196 degrees of duration at .050" with .467" of Max Valve Lift.

Exhaust- 201 degrees of duration at .050" with .479" of Max Valve Lift.

There is an unlimited number of things you can do and routes you can take. Think about how you want the car to be once you have the funds to do everything you want, and buy the parts that will support that setup and also benefit you now first. This way you don't waste your money in the beginning by buying parts you will only want to replace later, and at the same time your working towards your ultimate goal. I'd recommend you start by spending a few days or weeks reading up on things here. If your car is an A4, the first thing I would get is a converter.

Dont waste your time with a stock cam- you can pick up any number of good cams for under $300 in the classifieds section-
There is always spray thats your biggest bang for buck mod available-

im not looking for anything big. just want some more power out of her. ill have her at the track but not to often. its going to be more of a dd street car. i know suspension is a big thing. but the engine in my z was replaced right before i got it and only has 7k on it so i figured right now would be best for engine mods. and as far as putting juice to her im not really into that.
o yea and shes a 6 speed to

LTs? Tune? Got either of those? Those are quick and easy bonus HPs.

Gotcha. There are local sponsors, especially being in south jersey so close to DE, you should check out Race Proven (Frans96SS on here), for a bolt on tune. Wouldn't surprise me if less than 400. If you're looking for LTs on a budget minded outlook, check out pacesetters. I had them a week after buying my car and they were great. Coated cost a little under 400 bucks and the gains were there, even with no tune.

i hope he wasn't talking about rear wheel HP when he said 400. but yea, all those are good mods for power. and unless you know somebody local that wants the k&n, your not loosing enough power to be worth the trouble imo. but i'm in the same boat as you. i have a k&n but want to sell it for a fast toys lid.
