Default Finally got the SS going!

Well last night I took out the SS convertible.

Man, have I missed the feel of a V8 powered Camaro.

It is still stock, but it felt so good after 2 years of driving the Mitsubishi MonterSlow.

My son liked how a quick press of the pedal pushed him back in the seat, not to mention the sound of the exhaust when the RPMs got up a bit.

I told him that this has about twice the power of my 94 (3.4 V6) and that the 396 I am building will almost have twice the power of this car. He had a big smile.

I felt like a 17 yr old again.

True. But in my defense, that telephone pole DID run out into the street and hit my IROC

Actually, all of that was supposed to go in to the 94/3.4, but I've been thinking more and more about just putting it all into the 02. Would be nice to have a "396 SS"

Yup. Its actually a 395 stroker, not a true 396 all bore motor.

Yeah, I have the 98-02 body already on it (needs to be painted though) and the Sunoco hood in the garage waiting to go on.

I have a 98-02 interior ready to go in and complete interior and under hood harness from a 2002. I've rebuilt the used T56 that I bought, and just need to put the 396 back together (already had it together, but I pulled and disassembled the heads after porting the Fast intake).

a little but the seats are just beat, I need new ones. I would go aftermarket but i dont know what would be comfertable and still at a good price. I dont feel like dropping $800 either for some i know would be good.

Nah, I gave the seats away to an LS1tech member, long ago.

I've also been looking for an inexpensive leather seat.
