Rattle can for lid?

Rattle can for lid? I want to paint my air intake lid and I was thinking about sanding it smooth and then using Krylon Fusion spraypaint for plastic and a few coats of clear to make it shine. Has anyone else used this method? Good results or bad?

I did the same with mine but I used the same clear on my car that I did on the lid and FRCs. Much more durable and haven't had any problems for the last couple years

Mine is an SLP and was super easy. Came smooth as it is and I just sanded it a bit more to have the paint stick.
