Default Wax question

Whenever I remove wax from my car, the wax leaves little spots of wax, like tiny specs of wax that I have to buff the **** out of to get off the car. No matter how many times I flip the towel, or even what kind of wax I use, so it has to be my fault somehow.
Am I using too much wax initially?
Is it too humid?

Thanks

Some waxes are more finicky than others. Remove with a microfiber towel sinc they have more bite than cotton. Zaino is cool because it doesn't leave any white residue even on black trim.

Might be something on the paint previous to the wax causing a problem. Have you ever used a claybar or polish/cleaner before waxing?

Yeah, I've done the whole Dawn strip, claybar before. The car is a garage queen, sees maybe 3000mi/yr. It currently has 26k on it.

1) What waxes in particular are you using?
2) What applicators are you using?
3) Where are you applying it (i.e. in your garage or outside?)?

my guess is you are either applying it too thickly, or removing it too soon.

as ArcticZ28 mentioned, telling us your products and processes will help the troubleshooting.

Sorry for the delay, Trans Am Nationals was all weekend.
I have had this problem with both Zaino and now Meguires. I am using a cotton applicator pad, similar to the ones from Zaino. I wax in the garage, but always ideal atmospheric conditions, ie: at sunset or when humidity and temps are not perfect. There seems to be a fine line between too thick and too thin. If I try to get in on any thinner, it just streaks...

Ok, so I have a theory, but before I can confirm its validity, when was the last time you used the clay bar on the car?

Well, that can confirm a possible theory that the spots you're seeing on the car are actual contamination on the paint that is catching the wax as you go over it and causing it to stick on these smaller raised specks.

If it's been a few years, you definitely should clay bar again before you apply wax. If not, you're just waxing all of the surface contamination crap sitting on top of the paint. You're protecting the crap from leaving the paint, which is the opposite of what you want to do.

Put your hand inside a plastic bag and run it over the car. If you feel/hear any sort of grit whatsoever, it's clay bar time.
