Default Intake leak?!

Ok im not exactly sure if my leak if comming from my intake r not, but by doing the search i found that my syptoms are almost exactly the same as everyone else. To be honest i dropped the transmission about a week ago to do a converter change, and I had the oil leak then. However, i didnt notice anything out of the ordinary, so i replaced the rear main while i had it down. So is it necessary to wait 24hrs after doing the intake, because i really dont have that long, maybe 8-10hrs.

Did you use those stupid wavy pieces of black rubber for the front and back gaskets? I just use a good 1/4" - 3/8" bead of RTV Black and it sets within an hour and is fully good to go after sitting over night. I use it all around the gaskets too... some people dont reccomend this.

are you talking about the black plastic stud things that comne with the intake gasket kit? Those are only to hold the gasket in place. Use a 1/4" bead of black RTV, wait 12-14hrs and you should be fine. I only used rtv at the front and back, and no where else

I actually havent started on it yet. I planned on using the black rtv and basically need to know if had to wait at least 24hrs for it to set because that time frame seemed pretty lenghty.
