Default Rebuilding rear end, need help.......

My ring and pinion finally took a dump at 120k, so I am wanting to go ahead and upgrade all of the internals. The car is a 99 Camaro SS M6.... Whisper, bellows, EGR cut, lid cut, ported TB, gutted cats, 2.5 straight pipes, Stock clutch and pressure plate on 15lb flywheel........
List:

MCG-84518 Lug Nuts, Conical Seat, 1/2 in. x 20 RH, Open End, Standard/Locking, Steel, Set of 20 $30.99 $30.99

MGR-G875390 Gear, Ring and Pinion, 3.90:1 Ratio, GM, 7.5 in./7.625 in., Standard Rotation, Set $209.95 $209.95

MSR-9563 Axle Bearings, 1.401 in. Inside Diameter, GM/Ford, 7.5/7.625/8.2/8.5/8.8/8.875 in., Pair $29.95 $29.95

MSR-A102806 Axles, Direct Fit, C-Clip, Rear, 1541H Steel, 28-Spline, Chevy/Pontiac, Camaro/Firebird, 7.625 in., Pair $299.95 $299.95

STR-A1025 Wheel Studs, Screw-In, 1/2-20 in. R.H., 2.0 in. Overall Length, Set of 10 $21.95 $21.95

STR-R542046 Differential, Pro Series, Cone-Type, Limited Slip, 28-Spline, GM, 7.625 in., 3 Series, Each $419.95 $419.95
·This part is temporarily out of stock, but you can order it now. Tentative ship date: 9/5/2008, if your order is placed today.

SUM-G7821 Ring and Pinion Installation Kit, GM, 7.5 in./7.625 in., 10-Bolt, Kit $79.95 $79.95

Now, I'm assuming that the Camaro is still a 1/2 x 20 stud??? I'm not sure on that, so if someone could let me know I would appreciate it.

Has anyone had experience with Motive Gears???? I haven't used their product and hope they are quality.

I'm assuming the Moser axle bearings will fit the Moser axles, but I left them a message asking about that. I'm assuming their axles come bare without bearings or studs.

Is Summit a good place to order through for these parts? I haven't used Summit in 8 years, but they were good to me before on price and delivery....

Any help would be appreciated.

I would've upgraded to a 12bolt or a 9 inch maybe a 60, but I am trying to get this done for as close to a grand as possible.

I don't want to go just from 3.42 to 3.73..... I was thinking 3.90 might be my sweet spot.

Next year I am adding forged internals, upgraded valvetrain, and nitrous to the equation on the tune of no more than a 200 shot. This car will rarely see a strip, and of course the clutch will be upgraded, and the tires will never be full slicks........just DOTs. Will this setup possibly hold for what I need?

Thanks for looking and helping!!!!

i know you dont want to hear this, but if your planning on the nitrous, etc,,,,your wasting you $ on rebuilding your 10 bolt. i broke mine right the headers went in,,,im not all modded either, intake, lid, CAI, PnP'ed TB, Spec 3, Magnaflow catback, and some bald *** street tires,,,thats about it...took almost 3 teeth off my pinion with one stout launch. From what i understand, its the 10 bolt housing thats weak, and allows to much flex to happen...im no expert, so research, reasearch, and more research.

i have no exp with motiv gears, but from what i understand, just about all aftermarket gears are going to be noisy.

After contemplating the possibility of the housing being flexed (most likely is), I am now in the market for an upgrade. Wish me luck looking for one!! LOL

Dude, you're trying to rebuild a 10 bolt for a grand? Why? You know that for about $500 more you can have a 9 inch right? $1000 Housing/axle package from Bob + $500 Ebay third member. Not as strong as a $2500 setup, but lightyears ahead of a $1000 10 bolt.

I am in a situation where I really don't honestly need a 9 inch yet, and I have all the tools/bearings/shims etc laying around my shop. All I need is a different carrier and some new gears. The difference in our two situations is that I am only willing to spend about $250 total for the parts I mentioned and then do the work myself.
