Default My winter work thread (continued) 95 turbo TA build

Hey guys, If anyone remembers my "My winter work thread" from last winter you might have wondered where I've been. Well progress has been slow, I haven't really worked on the car much all summer. But I'm getting back in gear and trying to finish up the car ASAP. I'll try to update this thread as I make progress.

*** the car sits now the interior is mostly in, exterior is mostly done, and the engine should be getting wraped up soon. If all goes well I will have the engine/ trany in by next weekend.

The specs on the engine are

-Eagle 4340 3.75 crank
-Liberty 4340 H beam rods
-JE forged -31CC dish pistons (.030 over)
-Eagle splayed billet main caps
-ARP main studs
-Block half filled
-ARP head studs
-Heads ported by me
-stock intake valves
-SI stock size exhaust valves (best ones before going to inconel)
-3 angle valve Job

Drivetrain and suspension specs

-T56 rebuilt by me
-New kevlar synchros
-New input shaft (bent old one)
-Mcleod street twin clutch
-Custom steel driveshaft made at a local shop with 1350 U joints

-Ford 9 inch
-31 spline axles
-3.50 gears
-rebuilt ford posi
-ARP wheel studs

-Koni DAs
-hotchekis front springs Eibach rear
-Stock sway bars with all poly bushings and what not
-LS1 front brakes
-LS1 master cylinder, line lock, and proportioning valve.

Induction, engine management, and other specs

-Spectre EMS Pro stand alone (based off megasquirt)
-LS1 coils in wasted spark configuration
-96Lb hour injectors
-Cobalt boost and egt gauge, AEM WB02
-Precision PT67-65 turbo
-tubular manifolds with 1 5/8 primaries, 2.5 inch crossovers and a single 3" DP with a dynomax bullet muffler
-Considering selling my GMR speed front mount for a precision one my friend is selling (its BIG)

Here's some pics of the progress made this summer. The fuel rails and DVD player I was monkeying with this weekend. A lot of spots on the car still need wet sanded and buffed that's why certain pannells are dull. And the damn thing fell off my jack stands one night when it rained, I've got to get it back on wheels and in the garage.

Been really busy working on the car. I gave my dad the one harness bar I had made and had him copy it for me when he had some free time. Thanks Dad!

Picked up my seat and got it and the harness installed.

2 Random interior shots (she's a little dusty lol)

Had to paint the underneath of my spoiler and a sideskirt still. Finally got that out of the way. (Thanks Richi!)

The car is 90% buffed finally to. Still needs a little more work! (Thanks Richi!)

Here's the new intercooler I got for the single turbo setup. (GMRspeed twin turbo IC is for sale!) and some pics of the new mounts I made.

I'm working on getting the engine completely assembled, the heads need assembled and the oil pan needs finished. Here's some pics of the heads and oil pan. I'm sure I'll get a few comments about the port work not being the pretiest but it's more than sufficient. I will be using the redesigned beehive springs, stock intake valves, and SI severe duty exhaust valves. Heads are m
illed .012 (had to get a nick I put in the surface when porting out.)

That looks bad ***!

When you swap the tb like that do you retain use of the orginal tps sensor or is it all tunning for the correct flow etc?

No, I'm using a 90mm throttle body from an infinity (nissan) Q45. There about $60-$80 on ebay all day long. I shaved off the coolant passages and what not leaving just the throttle linkage and TPS.

Using the Nissan Q45 TPS that comes stock on that particular TB. I will be using an EMS Pro engine managment to run the fuel and spark and it is compatible with almost all TPS'.

Yes. After I sat down and really thought it out a single setup is wayyyy better for me. I can still easily meet my power goals, it's easier to fabricate, simpler, takes up less room, weighs a lot less than my twin setup, the list goes on. Oh and... it costs a lot less! lol

I really haven't set any solid goals for once... This is my first FI build, I'm just kinda going with the flow, I won't take less than 650rwhp and mid 10s in full street trim, but I would like to do better heh heh. We'll see.

I just touched up the heads a little more and scrubbed them up. I'm heading up to the shop to assemble them in a bit. I might put them on tonight to, we'll see how late I get home. On a side note, I'd like to thank Transfer Performance, the shop I work at, for helping tremendously with this project. None of it would have been possible without there help.

Might be some more pics posted tonight depending on how late I get in.

Sorry for no progress guys I picked up an 00 gmc sierra that got ina fender bender for $850! It needs a few front end parts and a little paint an it will be like Brand New. 100,000k

Couldn't pass it up, that cut into my clutch money and I've got an enclosed trailer I need to fix up and sell so the TA is on hold. I did manage to get the heads on, rockers all set up, manifold done, and on. The TB is still just sitting there, it needs trimmed a little and the throttle linkage needs some work, etc.

I was thinking of cutting up an intake manifold to do something like that with the 90mm. Do you have a picture of the finished welding?
