Default formula to trans am bumper?

THE FIREBIRD BUMPER IS SOLD

who has done it i have some questions? posted in the body section but got no answers.

so my questions is for those who have done it are the brackets that attatch the bumpers to the fender different.

i am doing this on my 01 and i noticed when i used my formula brackets there is a terrible gap (think double stuffed oreo gap) but if i dont use the brackets the ta bumper fits fine but i loose a mounting point which causes the bumper to sag a little (which i dont like) i would have thought that thte brackets would be the same but thats what i get for thinking with a GM vehicle. Any one done this and ran into this issue?

Leave the formula nose on the car. It is cleaner and sleeker looking.

I personally don't know, but I'm sure someone will chime in. You guys telling him to stick w/the Formula bumper aren't helping his question, it's not an opinion poll.

its been done quite a few times. i believe all you need is the plastic or foam bumper support behind the bumper. you can usually find them on ebay for $65 for the foam stuff

i know you think a t/a is great but browse the classifieds looking for any formulas and there have only been 4 or 5 forsale the past 4 months. formulas are much rarer and in my opinion makes them better looking

if it was a formula i might agree with you but seeing as how the car was a v6 when i started all of this project it had the w68 ground effects because i never realy liked the plain look of the firebird, so i have been on this path for the last 2 years now i really loved the look of the w68 with the high rise hatch, then i saw a Krazzy design (photchop rather) that i have the ability to reproduce but it required switching bumpers, which brings me to here.

I myself can't blame him for wanting to switch. I'm interested in doing this conversion myself since the Formula Bumper doesn't line up to either the TA or Wings West GFX. But yeah I know a few people here have done it so maybe they can chime in.

The brackets should be the same but you'll need the foam bumper support from a trans am because of the fog lights.
