Default rear discs onto older 8.5

I just picked up a 78 Nova 3.42 posi that I want to put discs on. I have a spare 96 rear with discs and an extra rear with just the brackets so I can use same side for both as my car(68 Firebird) has staggered shocks. Also have 99 discs but missing the em brakes.
So next question is which discs would be better?
Are there any write ups on this?

Watch your brake off sets, usually drums are 2.5" and disc are 2.25". Some older 10 bolts have the same backing plate bolt pattern as the LT1 and LS1 so double check that as well.

Do a mock up and make sure the offset will work and the caliper has enough room to float and your golden.

yeah and then get on and let us know how it works. I about to swap my 79 8.5 z287 rear into my 99 SS and Id like to know how close you get it to working or how well everything lined up.

I was kinda hoping someone else has already done this so I can benefit from their install.

someone told me that the LS-1 rears work on a 68 F-body without doing a 2 lefts or 2 rights to miss the staggered shocks.
Leaning more towards using the LT-1 brakes as I have a complete set plus the spare brackets.
