Default Fuel tank opinion, Swap or not?

I have a 98 TA. I have to pull the tank down anyway, I need to do the twin in tank pump setup. I already have a 99 plastic tank, I have EFIlive to correct the fuel gauge, hell I am running an 02 PCM already. Would swapping the tank be worth my while? I keep reading debates about the 99+ bucket, Cut the bucket, don't cut the bucket, you will run out of fuel, the 98 has a better pick up area...my head is spinning I would not even bother thinking about it if I did not get a complete tank from a part car. Thanks

Default

The 98 tank has a superior pump location for drag racing.

If the tank is not severely rusted, so that it is no longer good, I would not consider changing tanks. There are a lot of easier things to replace than the fuel tank in order to save a few pounds.
