My friend has efi live and is not sure if it will work on a 98 pcm. No sense in unlocking my vin if it won't work.

Hook it up, and then goto scantool. No need for a license use to do that.

EFILive never charges anyone to tune 1998 vehicles. It is unlocked on every cable. No need to purchase a vin on it.

Also as stated, the scan tool does not need a licence either, it is free for any car.

Just to add a 3rd confirmation; my engine is controlled by a 98 PCM & is tuned w/ EFI Live. Probably redundant info @ this point, but, thought you might want to know.

There have been some cables out there that didn't have the '98 stream license on them ... anyway, as mentioned before, reading doesn't require any license to start off with (contrary to other programs), so you could do anything with it ...
Check the license window to see whether your 98 stream license is in place, if not, contact Blacky with the serial of your cable to get the free stream license ...
