Unhappy so hard to find a job...

well, here I am almost 3 months after getting laid-off... still haven't found a local job that can work around my school schedule part-time.

It's like nobody is hiring, or can't work around my schedule... I really don't know what to do at this point. I've turned in a ton of applications online at websites like monster, jobing, snagajob, hotjobs, craigslist, etc...

I guess if they are interested, they don't call you right away, they call a few weeks later, or at least I hope that's what is happening... I don't think I have a bad resume or anything, and have even had the career development dept. at my school give it many once-overs...

it's just hard to find a decent job that is looking for someone with my skills in my area that'll be ok with me working Thurs.-Sun.

eating top ramen noodles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday is getting old fast

i'm even going after jobs that i'm over qualified for at this point... since getting denied unemployment, 3 months unemployed takes a toll on your cashflow

/rant

EDIT: for the most part this is what I'm in school learning to do right now... ---click the play button---> http://www.digitaldimension.com/reels_en.html

one of the biggest reasons it's so hard to find a job... besides not being able to work around my school schedule...

yea my school pays **** for jobs ($7/hour) and I live about an hour away from it... GAS PRICES>Income

I wish I knew how to build websites... i'd totally be doing that right now... that's the one dept. i'm not familiar with... my stuff is mostly visual effects and motion graphics...

thanks for the ideas though

basically their whole theory is... get your message about who you are across as quickly as possible...

that's not how it is in my field (IT). When we are hiring all resume's are on average 3 pages and that still doesnt give us a clear picture of what the guy REALLY knows. Mine is only two however. I think you should expand on the Robert Half job... good money in IT if you can grow into it more.

Default resume

i agree with above your resume looks like an outline it needs to show more... list projects you worked on in a paragraph form.

no just make it one page. its not bad, its just that your resume looks like you follwed a template. ditch the objective part altogether, put your experience at the top, then education. also put more more contact info up top, address and phone, and ditch the thing on the side
