Yes you would need a different TB for it to mate up with the FAST 78... And yes a tune will ALWAYS help

i know the tune would help but being a kid i don't have much money even though all i do is work!! LOL I wish i could get a tune but im think i might wait until the winter time save some money and put a converter in and then get it tuned

I felt a pretty significant difference with installing the ls6 and deleting AIR and EGR. Car Idles smoother, better throttle response, and noticeably more pull up top (highway speeds).
Good luck with the install.

yeah man you dont need a fast..the ls6 is just fine for you,and you will be fine if you wait on your tune..did you cut the ridges on the intake or did you get the 01-02 coolant pipes?? i was running a cam and milled heads with a lot of extras, and picked up over 20hp on the dyno from the ls1 to the ls6 manifold..its a very good thing to have and helps the car breath a lot better...

Sorry man i have been mad busy the past few days so i didn't have time to get on here. They make a kit for the coolant pipes that i ordered and it came with block off for the back and the 01-02 coolant pipe for the front. Thanks man with agreeing the intake is fine fo my set up. I put it on but don't feel much of a differance in throttle response but on top end it feels like it has more pull. Ill findout the next time i take it to the track which should be in two weeks. I wish i could get a tune and the converter, i would be sooooo happy but i just have to wait

You know i noticed the car running a bit smoother too. My dad said it maybe from the old gaskets on the old intake??

glad your swap went smoothly, I plugged the a/c vacuum on mine and I have to take the damn thing off again as for the gaskets the are reusable so shouldn't make a difference.

Holy crap. I thought I was imagining things. I've still got my AIR, but the EGR is gone. Can't see how the intake would give us a smoother idle, but I've noticed a difference in idle as well..

(Installed my LS6 intake yesterday)
