tranny is sticking from 3rd to 4th
I have a problem with my stock automatic transmission on my 94' formula. I took it the 1/8 mile track by my house to see what it would run and when I launched the car 2nd to 3rd was fine but 3rd to 4th I had to get off the gas so it would shift. What could the problem be? sorry for the noobie question

well at the end of the 1/8 is when it wants to shift into 4th and it redlines. Even when I'm getting on the expressway and I need to catch up to traffic it does it. Today I noticed it was acting up with me accelarating the car normaly. If it is the sprag, what do you recommend me to do?

If your not going to stay stock for long, I would highly reccomend just saving your pennies for a built trans from one of the sponsors (or anywhere, if you know someone) and doing it once.

do u have any suggestions on any models of automatic transmissions or brands of automatic transmissions that will handle everyday driving with the occasional run down the track? maybe a website I can order a good one from.

Is your car stock or modded? If your car has mods, list them since they are not in your sig. Considering your name is "wicked383lt1" I'm going to guess you have a 383, am I right? If thats the case then take a look at some of the sponsors on the right side, lots of quality transmission builders listed right there.
If your car is stock and you intend to keep it that way for awhile, a stock rebuilt transmission would be fine for you.

thanks for your time Fixxer99TA I check out a level 1 transmission from performabuilt transmissions I think that should be enough for what I want it for. I use to have a 96 TA 383 that my brother and I had worked on but he destroyed it. its a long story. Now I'm trying to do it myself with my 94' formula. thanks for all your help.

Cool, and the fact that you went level 1 will be a little piece of mind for when you beat on it
Be sure to post back on how you like it, I will be doing the same thing in short time I am sure (If what I have now doesnt get the trans/rear, the H/C will )
