Worth it to upgrade?

Worth it to upgrade? Do you guys think that it is worth it to upgrade from a 15.5 gallon steel tank from the 98's to a 16 gallon plastic tank from a 99-02??

What if you have to drop the tank anyway... My friend has a 98 Firebird and he has a hole in his tank so he needs to replace it. Does one have the advantage over the other?
