It will fit but the brakes will be different. You could either use the LS1 brakes which will require some modifications or just swap the brake backing plates and use the LT1 style brakes.

Keep the LS brakes. They're slightly bigger (.3")

Keep in mind though that you'll want to swap over the ABS system too. The 98+ use a 4-channel and 93-97 are 3-channel. I've been thinking about making a Y-connector so it runs like a single channel would, but uses both wheel sensors spliced into the single one on our cars. EBrake system is different as well, but people prefer the LS design over LT. Since you have a donor car, you're all set!

I also did the later Gen swap but mine didn't have ASR (not sure if your Moser will).

Absolutely! The rear end in my 93 is out of 2002.
I run LS1 brakes out back.

not all 98+ were 4 channel.

I'm all...er well eyes in this case... to a link showing that. (I'm honestly curious to correct my own personal info)

Here's my contribution to it, being it is 4 channel.
http://www.aa1car.com/library/abs98.htm

EDIT: NM I get it. 3 channel 4 sensor, 4 channel being ASR.

My understanding was 4 channel = 4 wheel sensor. So I guess technically I could splice in the 2 wheels into a single plug and have it work out OK.

not all cars had ASR/TCS. the cars with both ASR/TCS and ABS were 4 channel ABS systems, (utilizing a wheel speed sensor on each wheel.) cars not equipped with ASR/TCS and only ABS were 3 channel ABS systems utilizing 1 wheel speed sensor on each front wheel, and one speed sensor in the diff housing, monitoring only rear differential and gear speed.

check out # 15.

Wrong thread?

Anyways, the rear end I got doesn't have traction control, but has the 2 wheel sensors, compared to the single one my original had.

not post 15, bullet 15 in the first post.

and if the rear you have has reluctor wheels on each axle, and the harness plugs into two wheel speed sensors on each backing plate, the car had traction control.

Ah ok. I thought the traction control was still on the diff via a reluctor ring behind the ring gear like my 93 was.

Do you know if I'd be able to do my splicing idea, and have it work out correctly?

93's had a weird system, and also used a 700R4 rather than a 4L60E, so that might have something to do with it, idk. anways, i doubt the splicing idea would work, becasue the computer needs to see 4 different wheel speeds when you go around a turn or w/e. my guess is it would be like having a spool in your rear end, it would throw an ABS code or something everytime you went around a sharp turn and the comp didnt see 4 different wheel speeds.

I don't have wheel sensors originally, so what I'm doing is just for ABS function.
