Default 01 ws6 vs 2 00-03 Cobras and a 1990 LX

im not too familiar with the cobras, but both were SVT Cobras, one was a black vert, one was a charcoal grey vert, both looked like termys hood and all but did not hear any whine but both were loud as was my car + i had my music going. i wish i had my camera/phone on me, but anyway i was cruising around in mexico when i first spot the black snake, the traffic was a bit too heavy to run it so i continue just hanging with him and then realize 2 cars up was his buddy in a grey cobra, so i continue to stay with them for about 10 miles where the highway splits and we finally get to a nice open 3 lane stretch, 1 lane was blocked by cars the 2 outside lanes were clear as could be, so i pull up to the grey cobra in 3rd gear right about 65 MPH, he plays with the throttle a lil i match him and then he nails it, so i pursue. almost instantly i start slowly walking him to having about a full car + a lil lead by 110 when i back off, give him the thumbs up and he flashes his lights to acknowledge. so now the grey cobra moves up quite a bit and i line up with the black one, i stay with him for a good mile or so at 60 mph when he pegs it and i pursue, this one i stayed dead even with until 4th gear when i slowly walked about a 3/4 car lead and we both had to back out because of traffic. all and all was a good time, wish i had my camera or phone. after that i had to go back towards home because mexico was a little hot when i run into a 1990ish LX stang with a evil blower whine, needless to say i stared at his tail lights from 45-110 when i backed out. he pulled me by a good 4 cars almost instantly, so i headed home and left mexico in my wake

edit: sry forgot to mention i am fully bult ons w/ dyno tune 36x/37x

after doing some research i found that most non sc'ed cobras are from 96-01 and look the same as the 03-04. so im not really sure which year they were, wish i had the chance to stop and ask

The 94-98 look alot alike. The 99-01s look different than previous years. The 03-04s look similar to 99-01s, but there's enough to know the difference without spending too much time looking at them.

Maybe doing a search for 1998, 2001 and 2003 will help?

Either way....Good runs. Nice looking car.

THat's an 03/04. Stock pulley/blower cobra isn't that loud, especially wiht aftermarket exhaust.

The 03-04 hoods have 2 slots vs. the 99-01 single slot... is this the easiest way to tell? I've always had a tough time myself.

Im assuming you ran a couple stock Cobra's then, because to pull them at 360hp they couldnt have been modded. My 03 Cobra made 404 whp with just a Intake/Exhaust. Not knocking you or anything, I know anything can happen out on the street. Here is a couple pix of my old Cobra..

(BTW, the Ferrari didn't want to run )

Yeah, but there are other things too. 03/04s have a skirts and a completely different spoiler.

What's up Pete? I'm not surprised the Ferrari didn't want to run.

good run it can be close with our cars with full bolt-ons but the cobras have to be stock, and that is rare.
