T-6060 swap possible?
So the new G8 GXPs (maybe even the non GXPs, who knows) will be getting the T-6060 which is derived from the T-56. It's also in the 08 Vette and 09 CTS-V. With that in mind, you think with a bell housing swap from a T-56, that it would fit in our F/Y body cars?
The gear ratios on the 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP:
1st: 3.01
2nd: 2.07
3rd: 1.43
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.84
6th: 0.57
The trusty T-56
1st: 2.66
2nd: 1.78
3rd: 1.30
4th: 1.00
5th: 0.74
6th: 0.50
G8s is VERY VERY VERY close to the G92 1993 M6 specs. But the 6060 can handle 600ft/lbs

well the obvious difference would be the bell housing and input shaft. Now if the new 6060 will bolt up to LS's that had the T-56 then that should be all you would need to replace...it is a bad *** tranny, although i'd like to look into doing a 6L80E

Yes, I've mentioned the 6L before, I'd LOVE that. You'd need the shifter setup from a car that had it though to take advantage of the tap shift. Or buy that pretty expensive paddle kit that this one company came out with. One guy on the site has it on his 4L60E.

What's the difference between that and a built T56 though..besides the Gear Ratios..?
I'm willing to bet that you can get a built one for cheaper..at the current moment in time..
This is the T56 that I'm getting..guaranteed for 700 at the wheels..

Well, I'm thinking the 6060 is probably the same price, except it's better by itself (less tq handling but more advancements elsewhere), and apparently lighter as well.
