General Stealth Box Questions
I recently blew (2) JLW3 12's in my car. I'm not sure the version but I know they are stamped 4/2002. I think I got a good run for my money because I bought them used in 2004. Anyway...My car never rattled from Bass...only from my cam and exhaust. I consider it really ghetto when the quarter panels and trunk, etc. rattle. I'm looking at installing (1) or (2) stealth boxes and I'm not sure which 10's to buy. I don't want any rattle and I don't want any kind of dampener or dynamat unless it is very light.
Where would the limit be where the **** starts to rattle in these F-bodies?
Is there any rattle with your Stealth box?
Which one do you have?

i have had my stealthbox with a Boston Acoustics G2-10" DVC for about 6 months now and it gets 300 watts. It is crisp and clear and hits hard. I dont have any sound dampener or anything and have no rattles or anything, no complaints.

I have a drivers side stealth box. I have an Alpine Type R getting 500 watts and it hits plenty hard for me. There are no rattles whatsoever. I definitely recommend the setup if you aren't sure on the sub yet.

...I guess I'm in the minority then...I have a JL Vantage Stealthbox with an Eclipse 8710.4 sub that I send 250 RMS watts of Orion power to, it hits 132 dB from the front seats. My back hatch and trunk area rattle like crazy...of course I have a '98, so the car's 10 years old now, but it did it as soon as I installed it back in '00. If you have a set-up that moves enough air, it will cause things to rattle.

It also depends on what is rattling. Most of the rattles in my car came from the plastic trim panels around the seat belts buzzing. Or when one of the passenger side trim locks comes loose and begins to vibrate. Most of this is really easy to fix with some thin weatherstripping between the layers of plastic.

Well I might replace the amp, but I'm not too sure. It's an old MTX 801D. If it did me good with these (2) 12's and didn't rattle a T-Top style box. But I'm curious if I hook a bad *** 10" to this amp if it will rattle the **** out of the quarter panel. I'm considering driver's and passenger's stealth as well for (2) 10's

Exactly what I'll be running, CAN'T WAIT!!!! Would have it installed already but my dumb *** accidentally ordered the passenger side box instead of the driver's side (could have sore I double checked the order). Oh well, replacement should be here in about a week.
