I was pretty much 100% set on an 03 Evo. I love the cars, how they drive how they sit, pretty responsive to mods, pretty quick cars. BUT, I'm having a hard time finding very many around here, and the ones I do the dealers think are painted with a gold/platinum based paint and that the holy grail is sitting in the trunk. (17-18k cars, they are wanting 23-24k....figures)
Anyway, I come across a Mazdaspeed 6 today. Nice as hell on the inside, leather, pop up navigation, keyless ignition, nice bose stereo...better MPG...just a lot of creature comforts, all while still retaining some balls at 274hp and being AWD. They have a low price on the car, it's an 06 with 43k miles...2yr 100k warranty free. Asking 19k now. It's newer and at or less even than some of the Evo's while being 3 years newer. I don't expect them to ever be as quick, but hey it's a DD....
Anyone here ever owned a speed 6? I've searched online, haven't find a ton of info. Anyway, would just like to get some feedback....

The MS6 is a pretty nice car. Its roomier and more comfortable than an Evo and its a little nicer inside too. Its decently quick too. Test drive one and see if you like it first...

Definitely, I've researched and haven't found alot online. Only known issue seems to be the seal for the oil on the turbo. It appears after heaving modding....well that goes lol.
Didn't know if anyone had one, or knew of any known issues with them.

Not much of a mazda 6 fan... (drove one when they first came out)
Used 350z's are cheap... and they do look good with some nice aftermarket rims/wheels I see them priced all the time in the mid teens. (and mid teens at the track too. :jest: )

I don't know much about the MS6's, but my good friend has a MS3, pretty much same engine. He broke a motor mount within the first month of ownership, but got it fixed and its been fine since then, I like the car, and the 6's are a bit nicer. Not much of an aftermarket out there yet it seems, but peppy cars for sure. Would you just make up your mind already though kylick?

Josh 350's don't meet my criteria.... lol I want an AWD car, that is a manual and still has a good amount of pep to it for DD purposes.
I've not had much luck on how they respond to mods, but it'd be a cool ass sleeper and be much nicer on the inside than the Evo's.....so I guess assuming they are as reliable and as nice, I wonder if the mazdaspeed 6 would be worth giving up a little HP and fun for all the nice creature comforts.
Milla I wish I would. :<

Well if your just using it for a DD with light mods the ms6 sounds better for the money. If it was me though I would spend a bit more for the evo but I would mod it alot more probly and use it for autoX and some drag racing to. Ive also heard of the motor mount breaking I believe it was a recall on some of them but it comes with a warrenty so no need to worrie.

My advice: Get what you want and don't be rushed. I've looked at many WS6's before I bought my current one. I realized that I may have to wait for one to show up but I'm glad I waited. Wait for an EVO to show up if that's what you really want.

MS6's are nice lookin' with the hood bulges. I like them better than the Evo's when it comes to fit and finish

Yeah, the interior is really what sells me. I love Evo's but their downfall is that the interior isn't nearly as nice at all. If I knew and could find out that those Mazda's had the ability to be modded like the Evo's, I'd be sold...
The Mazda would be cheaper with Insurance also, fuck man it's a total give and take. I wish I could find something to sway me one way or the other.

I'd drive the Mazda over the Evo, just to avoid the ricer fanboi status completely.

Theres no mods for Turbo dodges so regular people make them....
All you would need really is a boost controller(universal), fab up an intake, fab up some exhaust... add a meth kit
I'd take the Mazda, I've driven the regular 6s and they are great

yeah you can do your own intake realativly easy. Get the measurement and have a exhaust shop bend some pipe as needed. Then just coat it or wrap it to keep if from getting too heatsoaked. Then, like already said, get a universal boost controller and meth kit and pump up the boost and your gonna be golden. Maybe throw on som universal mufflers and get a shop do do custom bigger pipping and your gonna be half way there. You may have to get things like headers and other big mods custom done but it's doable. Check Ebay too.....

Well, I bought the Mazda today. The thing flat gets on it pretty good for a 4cyl.
Car already has a complete Magnaflow system, I'm going to run over tonight to see if it's got any other mods. Appears to be stock though....
