Default sheetmetal better than "plastic" intake for N20?

recently i have seen some people bashing plastic intakes for nitrous use but then the colonel jumped in and said you could compensate with bigger jetting..... compensate for what? whys is sheetmetal considered to be a better type of intake than a plastic?

Wait, I said what? I don't remember the post. Show it to me please. I just want to make sure that no one misunderstood something I said.

Thanks.

Probably because they're easier to blow up if you have a backfire!

This was my only comment in that thread...

"Looks great for high HP applications. I think plastic would be best for most people."

As far as the KABOOM!!!ing intakes...tune your setup right and this shouldn't be a concern.

hehe. sorry colonel i guess i should check my sources a little closer before i post them
so is there any advantage of having a sheetmetal intake as opposed to a plastic one? and why would you have to jet up like NineBall said?

I don't know what Nineball meant about that. I think he was just playfully saying that the NA guys should get their way on the intake design since the bottle babies can just pill it up.

All else being equal (dimensions being the same) I see no advantage to a metal intake for nitrous use other than physical strength which shouldn't matter if you don't backfire. Now forced induction...that might be a different story.

ya but for forced induction we are concerend about heat soaked for metal intakes.
so we just "cram" more boost in there
