HI Guys, Newbie here. I bought a 2000 camaro thats a z28 6 speed. It has all slp stuff on it, hood, spoiler, decals from the front bumper down the side of the car and is says slp, badges on the hood, slp strut tower brace, slp maf,slp exhaust, hurst short stick, etc. It also has the silver sticker on the inside door panel. What causes my confusion is that slp cars I am told were only the ss model and not z28's. How would I verify this?

Thanks for your help!

Dan

Look on the door sticker, all the RPO codes. An SS says Z28 on the list, it also has WU8 and Y2Y
Sounds like you have an SS

Somebody got slap happy with some SLP mods. Thats all. Unless it has SS emblems and the RPO code, its a Z28.

that and you can also call slp and give them your vin, and they will tell you. but beyond that, what does it matter if its an ss?

It also has the silver sticker on the inside door panel.

Whats the silver sticker say, only SS cars got silver SLP door stickers with the SLP specific options.
Does it have a Z28 emblem on the back?

Just to clarify, an SS is an option package on a Z/28 so "techincally" they are all Z/28s. As has been stated it has to have the WU8 RPO code to be a "real" SS.

Ignore all of the other suggestions and cut to the chase: It either has a WU8 code or it doesn't. WU8= SS, No WU8 = no SS.

Well it has the silver sticker from slp stating the they added the wheels, hood, spoiler, exhaust, maf, etc. The emblem on the back is a z28. The rpo code is z28. No other codes. It seems like slp decided to add the ss options to it. I just haven't found one that wasn't an ss from GM before being modified from SLP thats all.

Thanks
Dan

It's more like a previous owner took it to SLP for the modifications.
Any pics of the SLP stickers, that would be great to see them.

How do I add a photo? Also does anyone have the email for slp?

The sticker on the pass. door is a white sticker not silver from SLP.. If you don't have the RPO code WU8 then it is not a real SS. All the stuff you listed is aftermarket, such as the STB, stickers down the side, MAF none of this stuff came from the factory...

call slp directly in new yersey and give them your vin number and they will tell you if its a real ss

DPZ28: Hey bro, just look at the build sticker on the driver's door. Look for the WU8. I am trying to make this as simple as possible for you. The other posters are well-intentioned, but you don't need to do all of the stuff they are suggesting.

See pic. This is a real SS. See the WU8 and Z28? An SS will have both. Any LS1 Camaro that does not have the WU8 is not an original SS.
