I know what you mean, I went to four/five shops in my area to get an estimate. All of them said, "Can't be done, no room, but I can put a nice Flowmaster muffler on there for ya." Which is why I ended up hitting up Texas Speed for their kit. I see lots of guys on here with custom sets, so they can be done, you just got to find a shop that knows what their doing.

Wish you luck.

i paid 200 for a local guy to do my exhaust.. and 200 for my two mufflers.... this is what he did for 200..

welded the custom bent by himself 2.5 inch piping onto the longtubes.. it was an xpipe also, and then welded my mufflers onto the xpipe right before the axle and put hangers to hold the mnufflers..

he cut me a small deal, cause all local ls1 guys go to him.. there was more than enough room.. i havnt scrapped.. but i am slightly careful... it was 402.50 for the whole thing, i bought the mufflers myself from jegs or summit cant remember. he said if it was anyone else, instead of 200 it would have been 225-250..

doubt that will work... if he isnt good enough to know how to do it, he would need dimensions and everything..

Its not hard to do dimension for this kit. Just use your own stock dimension x 2 pipes. Figure out where to bend the pipes by looking at the pictures we posted.

I made mine myself, took a while because I didn't want a ton of welds and low hanging pipes but I got it done. The hardest part was making the xpipe. I ran it to the axles but then had a shop put tailpipes on it. My local shop also said it couldn't be done even when I showed him some pictures. He was just a dick and didn't want to do it.

see that link that azredbird posted? That's how I've been planning on getting my under the axle set-up. Looks so mean, and tough. I prefer it to the 3 pics above, even thought they're straighter flow.

400 bucks aint that bad if you add up the cost of mufflers-pipe-hangers-and fabbed X-pipe. And its mandrel bent tubing! Most shops bending machines crush the pipe in the bends hurting overall performance. Where are you located at? Here in west texas I can get a dual setup over the axle-mandrel bent tubing(aluminized steel) with chambered style mufflers for 380.00. The muffles are knock off flowmasters-you wouldnt know the diff unless I told you. Shop around- the shop you are dealing with obviously dont have any fabricating skills.

yeah the bad thing about that is he didnt put collectors in front of the rear end so when you jack you car up and let the rear end hang you can pull the pipes so the rear end dosnt hang on the pipes and breaks the hangers! I had this happened te me while i was laying under the car!!!!!! scared the fuc* out of me!
