Default LS3 Vette gains 67rwhp, 40rwtq with cam, LS7 exhaust, bolt-ons

A user on the Corvette forum wanted a real clean, stealthy setup, without the hassles of headers. He swapped the LS3 exhaust manifolds/exhaust for LS7 manifolds/exhaust, then added:
Custom Comp Cam, spec'd by Patrick G 218/230 .563/.573 on 115lsa +0, Comp XE lobes
PAC beehive springs, comp titanium retainers, comp 7.425 pushrods
Cometic .040 head gaskets for 11:1 static compression
LS7 Exhaust Manifolds with Cat Pipes
Dr Gas 3" X-pipe
ATI 10% underdrive pulley
Yella Terra roller rockers
More details here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2118422

Nice gains:

Nice cam work. I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up installing LT's at some point though once he gets used to the power.

Pat you have a PM.

Nice!

I'm not a math whiz, but it actually looks like it gained 78 RWHP and 47 RWTQ, not 67 and 40.

Unless there's an explanation on the corvette forums. I didn't click the link.

Looks like a pretty solid setup for the goals. Just out of curiosity, what are the stock cam specs on the LS3?

damn, i wouldn't have expected a cam of that size on a 115 lsa to hold peak power like that...nice.

i assume having no advance contributed to this?

nice numbers, badass setup on manifolds.

Headers would really wake that thing up. Manifolds and a cam??? I would of talked him out of that idea.

Damn, those LS3's impress me more all the time. Might be time to start planning a stroker combo for down the road myself, lol.

I don't know...

Stock NVH and stock drivability, but with LS7 power is pretty attractive. Not everyone wants a loud, rough, unrefined road rocket.

When people go from 440 rwhp to 500 rwhp with bolt-ons, is most of that gain coming from the tune? Just trying to figure it out.

I thought I read where the ls7 manifolds are pretty good and flow pretty well, so that's a nice balance between performance and streetability.
