Question LGM motorsports turbo hotside enquiry

Lets be Honest here, how many people would buy the hotside only, and what would you pay? I can make something happen in mass production in 6-8 months ( 75-100 sets)

I have no interest in making a turbo kit, but most of the F car guys are DIY guys, or have a shop do it that is more than capable of coming up with the rest of the system.

We have 5 different sets of headers for corvettes, and over 2000 sets sold to date. We would have NO problem delivering, if you guys SERIOUSLY think there is enough interest in hot parts only.

I have been a member of this site since the day it departed from LS!.com, and turbo guys seem to be the worst at screwing customers over. Id like that to stop, really. APS has answered most of that, but not everyone is in that market.

This started from the OFI thread about delivery. I have no intentions in building a kit, but the hotside is what gets most people in trouble. We have a great reputation with the corvette headers and that market and we could use that knowledge to build a nice hot side.

I know most want to keep the AC, most will use a T4, and most will DIY.

Discuss.

A T6 option would be nice if it could be done without too much fabbing...I know someone that would order a T6 kit today.

What someone needs to do is a factory manifold kit which ever ones, that keeps the a/c and does not require you to move the radiator/condensor forward. I know thats alot to ask for but thats the only hot side that is not out yet and i know so many people that would buy that right away. Including my self.

Everyone please carry on.

I can tell you from experience it will work. Offer a header/charge pipe setup at a decent price and it will sell. I would have done it along time ago. I just don’t have the ties with the manufactures to pull it off or even where to begin to find them.

I do not even want to know a price that you are thinking of since I bought a kit that was hot side, turbos, and wastegates. Other then that I did everything myself. do you have a price in mind that you are thinking of?

I'd be up for a hotside that looks great, 4" dp, T6 flange, I could care less about ac and is easy to change plugs on.

Easy for you to say in PA! :-) Luckily, Lou is down here in Texas where you wouldn't dream of having a driver without A/C. Anyway, back to the subject...
I'd sure be interested in this. I'm contemplating a DIY turbo setup for my next project and definitely would buy stuff from you again, based on how happy I was with the headers.

Bring it on!

Ill be in the market for a hotside kit or even just the headers next spring. If you can deliver for a reasonable price I would be in.

Louis,

Id say somewhere around $1500 for the headers coated. Maybe a lil more....
Id say Close to 3K if you use Stainless and have it coated and include the crossover and flange for the turbo.
Id have to sit down to see what it would take for the crossover and flange work.

Its going to be a lil bit of $$

People have the mind set all wrong when it comes to this stuff.

They see the other (Cheaper kits) price cheaper and they get it in there heads that this stuff should be cheap......
A well built kit is going to cost some $$

Thats just my .02

FWIW Louis......this would be a good option for smaller shops too. Shops that do not have a fabricator, but would like to build a "semi-custom" set up.

You get a hair cut yet?

I say you'd be better off making a T4 & a T6 and in smaller quantities. Something like this will never sell in the quantities that headers do and people need something more specific to their goals than one set of headers and crossover can achieve.

I would have to agree with t6 option. If i were to replace what i made myself, i would have a bigger turbo. I would also opt for a great set of tubular manis that work, and look better then the truck manifolds that i got.

I definatly dont care about Ac.

Lastly If you offer something better then others, and its cheaper people will buy it.

If you made a nice manifolds, with merge, and downpipe out of SS and it was around 2000 i would be interested.
