Any SS owners having problems with their 3rd brake light?
My 3rd brake light, the one in the spoiler, has decided it's wanted to crack, or should I say pretty much shatter itself right around the 3 bolts holding it in. So now, the light is hanging there loosely. The dealer wants $92 for a new one! Do you guys have any ideas on an easy fix for this lil dilema?

Oh yeah, my 6 yr/72K mile warranty expired about 11K miles ago.
I guess it's time to start looking around some f-body salvage yards. Cause there is no way I'm giving $92 for a new one!
I'll see what I can dig up.

We have Billy Graham's down here Brian. http://www.billygrahamsfirebird.com/ Haven't personally done any business with him. I've heard good and bad. Good luck! Say hello to that old man 1LE pilot for me.

LOL... this thing
Mine broke to the point of it hanging by the wire bouncing off my trunk lid. I took it to GM to have it fixed under warrenty and they blamed it on SLP for tightening the bolts too tight and then SLP blamed GM because they said that they made it. I went round and round with the dealer for a loooong time and just said f&*k it!! I just pulled the screws out and put little washers with the screws and now its better. Just the head of the screws hang out now Same with the GF's SS... same deal...
Sooo, good luck!

Had the exact same problem, used super glue and it fixed it for a bit, but then it broke again. Now I took some larger diamater washers and put the screws thru them, it hasn't budged since.

I was advised by a dude at a car meet to be very
careful with closing the trunk, since the
composite flexes a lot and can crack stuff. Like,
I guess, brittle polycarbonate taillight lenses.
