Default Need some help with a cam...

I am going to be doing a cam swap here soon and was trying to buy a used cam. I kinda wanted the cc306 even though everyone says get a custom cam. Well I found a used one on camaroz28.com and want to know if it will exceed my stock heads. I have a new set of pac valve springs, comp retainers, locks and seats. The cams specs are:

258/270 duration @ 0.050” lift
0.549”/0.549” lift w/ 1.5 rockers
112 lobe separation
Part #: 07-000-8
Grind #: LT1 3286/3287 HR112.0
Serial #: X 8653

The duration looks fucked up but that is what he has listed.

And are 1.5 the stock ratio rockers for the lt1s?

Thanks.

If that is duration as measured at 0.050", uh, yeah that's a bit beyond the capacity of stock heads.

That's one big cam...i'll be running a 228/235 with le2 ported heads, i'll be shifting at about 6300rpm's (which with the stock bottom end, that's about as far as i want to push it, don't wanna be spinning a rod bearing...) If you're heart is set on it, get a cc306, but in all honesty, custom cam is the route to go..it would be a cam for exactly what YOU want. just my .02

and yes 1.5 is stock ratio

Yes, Huge.....

Go with the 306 or something custom, but I would also reccomend something custom (you will make better numbers/times with a custom vs something just off the shelf of the same size).
