Knocksense KnocksenseMS for LS1 and Gen 3 Engines. w/ Megasquirt
My Project: 1989 GMC Turbocharged 5.3 Vortec with megasquirt 2/MSD ignition
I ordered KnocksenseMS from www.viatrack.ca . After Hooking it up my LED would lite up over 1k RPM and stay on until idle. Even with the sensitivity **** all the way to Clockwise.
I was using the stock dual knock sensors wired together. I contacted Boris (makes and sells knocksense) with my dilema, but did not hear back. After two days I cam across this website he had..... http://www.viatrack.ca/KnockMS/POT.pdf
I tired what was suggested on the site. But even with a 500k ohm resistor wired in series with the knock signal input he knock LED would still light up at part throttle and stay lit all the time, but it was an improvement.
So I tried a 1M ohm resistor in series ith the knock input and it worked. I had nice adjustment with the sensitivity **** and now knocksense works as it should.
Not sure if anyone else had this problem. But thought I would share it how I fixed it. Anyone have any more input if they have used this?

I thought of that too. I know its not uncommon for water intrusion on these sensors, esp in a truck engine. Before I tried using resistors I depinned one sensor at a time at the connector to rule out a faulty sensor. With one pin removed retried it. But had the same results. I did this while also keeping in mind that they worked perfect last season with the stock PCM.
I did seaches everywhere, but one found a few random posts on other sites about people saying they were gonna use knocksense on and LSx project. But no actual install pics or sucess stories.

I have a build thread on this site here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...845&highlight=
But most updates and progress is here:
http://www.giffinsperformance.com/tu...vortec-t6.html
it mostly covers the turbo build, not much about the wiring or trans.
