Default EVAP purge solenoid removal question

I have a 4.8L, and my PCM and harness has smog stuff removed. So, I no longer need the evap purge solenoid. I want to remove it to give more hood clearance anyways. Have any of you guys fabbed something to replace evap purge solenoid? See pictures below:

Question, do you need to pass the smog test for your State/area ?

If not, You can delete it, plug and flash out the code and functions.

You can remove the valve (flash out the code/function) and try using a Charcoal Canister with a vacuum pulling the vapors from the tank.

If you need to pass the Smog test..
Maybe you can try a 4 Gen F-body valve as a remote valve.. I see no reason why that would not work, as long as you can get a vacuum feed to the valve and the connections connected right.

I don't have to worry about smog laws in Alabama. The guy that programmed my PCM removed it and also removed the plug from the harness.

I ended up cutting the base of it off with a hacksaw. I'll fill it with epoxy (JB Weld) and bolt it back into place. Here's what it looks like:
