If it was your car???
Plain and Simple,
If my car was your car, mods in sig.
$2000 cash to spend on car
What would you do? No dress up stuff! No Nitrous! but what would your 1st step to making my car a fast street car be?
Driveability and Reliability Matter
Thanks
Jason

Fast 90, gears, and get some D.R.s. With a cam you will be changing the valve springs more than once, maybe more depending on how big it is. I don't think that is really "reliable." A 50 shot of nitrous is more "reliable" than a cam and won't hurt your car.

Buy a Honda, gas is too expensive!
I'm just kidding guys, I'm shocked nobody else said something stupid!
IMO, save a little more money & do a H/C/I swap and then do a tune and at least a 6 point cage...
Good Luck with your decision, theres alot you can do with a couple Thousand dollars... Just don't forget with all the new power, you'll need to improve suspension to get the car to hook up out of the hole!
Suspension goes a LONG way...

Im gonna go with a cam for sure!!! But getting a honda actually would be smart!! then i can make more radical mods to the Z, not have to worry about it breaking and not being able to make it to work.. thanks

i would go with suspension since you already have a couple performance mods, $2K can go a long ways in the suspension, plus your car will get a lot more traction making it a "fast street car" like you want, heads and cam won't be the most reliable thing to do if you only have 2K to work with.

Cam
LT headers and y-pipe (I'm assuming you don't have this as your sig just says "full exhaust" and you need this to get the most of the cam)
Dyno-tune or DIY with HPTuners or EFILive

full exhaust, cam, ls6, dynotune, and some tires...
explanation.. LTs, and dump them before the axle.. id go with a good sized cam cause it doesnt sound like you will be doing heads soon.. ls6 cause its much cheapers than a 90/90 of course.. tune, and i would buy 2 cheap stock rims and put a good hooking tires on it, wether it be radial or slick and then just switch them when you want to race... also, weight reduction is free to a certain point, take **** off you dont care about. it adds up QUICK and means a lot..
