Default just a ???

has anyone tried taking a rearend out of a 2500+ truck and shorten the axles and used that in an f body???
just wondering if cuttin one up would be cheaper than getting a brand new one

Just like any rear that is not pre-fabbed you would need to fab up some brackets to get it to work in a f-body. If you are going to build one from scratch I would start with something lighter. 12 bolt, Ford 9, Ford 8.8 or a 10 bolt w/8.5 ring gear would be much lighter than the truck rear.
