Default Nos, cam, heads what spark plugs?

Hey guys I just finished my H&C project on my 02 C5 vette. 228/230 cam 112LSA, LS6 Heads, and all other supporting bolt ons. I had a 100shot wet before with TR6 plugs which I lost 10rwhp. My question is if I run a 75shot wet with the new motor setup can I run a hotter plug, I want my 10rwhp back when off the bottle.

If no with a 75shot what if I go down to a 50shot

okay well since no one knows I'll just try the 50shot anf regular plugs. If I'm still loosing the race after a 50shot then I'm going to just take the loss

No matter what the size shot if you aren't going over 150hp i'd use the TR6 plugs. I personally wouldnt spray on those plugs they are too hot.

I have the same problem, but you can't have both.

Between the retarding the timing and the cooler plugs I lost around 12rwhp.

BUT I'll take the 136rwhp from my 150 shot over the 12rwhp anyday!

I don't think MOST people even know the difference between a colder or hotter plug. I ran the TR6s gapped@.038 while only bolt-ons and my full weight m6 car went 12.30s@113 without a remarkable 60 ft, just 1.8s. I saw NO loss in power, responsiveness, or idle quality from the stock heat range.

A little info for the un-educated....all a "colder" plug does is transfer the heat from the combustion chamber more rapidly through the design of the plugs insulator around the center electrode. A "hotter" plug will be designed to hold the heat in longer where the "colder" plug will send the heat out of the plug into the head faster reducing heat. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the amount of spark you receive.

To the OP, I wouldn't run the TR55s in a heads/cam setup, let alone a heads/cam/N20 setup. It's general rule of thumb to go 1 step colder on the plug when hp has been increased by 100. If you choose to run the stock heat range with juice on top of heads/cam, your playing with fire, literally.

Finally thanks for the imput, I'll be sure to run the TR6 plugs and change my 100shot jets to 75shot.

By the way, what gapping do you all suggest?

I am not 100% shure, but if Autolite makes a AR 3935 that would be a #7 and would probably work good.

I run an AR 3933 with my setup (alot more then stock compression so the colder plug is needed even n/a) and I am gonna get some AR3932's which is a #10 heat range, for when I start playing with the jets.
