Man it seems like time has flown by! Next month (Oct.) will be a year that I've been out of the military.
I did 5 years at MCAS Beaufort, SC and out of those 5 years I was probably on land for 2.5 years. I was in the Navy (Seaopdet) stationed at MCAS Beaufort in MALS-31 to support VFA-86 and VFA-82. One of which got decommissioned but I forgot which one.
I got to see some cool places and I've been to over 17 different countries in my short 5 year career. Did 3 cruises, 2 on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), and 1 on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). I was on the Lincoln when the Tsunami hit Indonesia. I helped clean up.
I was just reminiscing, thinking about being in the shop with my buddies working late on exreps! LOL! I hated it then, but looking back it was good times. I have a lot of good memories from back then.
I still talk with one of my good friends from the Marines. He's a Cpl serving in Ali Sod right now. I assisted in giving him love for the LSx. I still keep in contact with others through email and myspace, but for the most part we've all gone our different ways in life. Being scattered all over the US in different states makes keeping in contact hard at times.
Anyway, just thought I would share. Time fly's when your in the service and time fly's when your out.
Here's a couple random pictures.
