Exhaust to fit Kooks 3.5" collector....
As of right now I have a TSp 3" TD system, but have recently purchaased a set of Kooks 1 7/8"-2"-3.5" collector. I have tried searching, but it seems most people who have the headers just run mufflers hanging off the header. But this is a street car and I want some kind of exhaust. WOuld prefferably like to keep the TSP system, just dont know how I can fit it to the headers? Maybe a Kooks y-pipe? But I cant see paying more for just a y-pipe than a complete TD/x-pipe system....anyways, I'm just wanting some opions here guys. Also how are these headers going to fit with the stock k-member?

Interesting question. I do not see why a good fab shop could not make it work. It would take a little effort, so the guys that are into the quick and easy jobs may not want to tackle it.

how bout a simple 3.5" to 3" reducer?
unless you're running some sick stroker or BIG boost setup...the 3" TDs is more pipe than you need.
the 3.5" collector will benefit you at the merge...but behind that...the 3" pipes are more than sufficient i would think

I guess the 1 7/8 to 2" steps leave room for improvements down the road?? I have yet to find anyonyone that stops with the improvements once bitten by the bug. I started out with a K&N filter and now have a shop full of S&W suspension parts, new LS6 intake, 42 lb injectors, Kooks headers, ZO6 cam, 243 heads I am sending off to get ported, ZO6 cam, moser 12 bolt, etc. It never ends!

You can have a muffler shop expand the tsp x pipe up. You might need to tweak the x pipe a bit. But the question i have is why would you have a 1 7/8-2" header if this is a street car? Thats a lot of header. I think you will need an aftermarket k memeber to fit those headers.
Back to the original topic....where would one get these reducers? Also will that not shift the whole exhaust back? Guess I would end up having to shorten the system up, if I go with the reducers?
Keep the opions coming guys, would also like to hear from someone who has a stock k-member and these headers?
