Default 02 CETA vs 03 Cobra vs New BMW 135I (Twin turbo V6) and Son's Hemi vs SS Chevy

Coming back from cruise yesterday and came up on a pullied Cobra saying he was running 460 RWHP in his car. We had a couple short runs from about 60-100. First run and seemed I got a bit better start and had him by a fender when we let off. 2nd run he got a bit better jump and had me by 1/2 a car when we let off. 2nd run I was pulling back on him but my clutch faded and could not get it to shift to the next gear. Would like to see him again when I get my new clutch installed.

Then ran into a new BMW 135I and had never heard of them but the passenger in my car told me they were BMW's little pocket rocket with the twin turbo V6. It was a little car for sure. We took off at 55 and ran to 100 with me and I pulled steadily letting off with a 4 car lead. Spoke to him a second and he said the car put out somewhere in the 320HP range, but probably only weighs 2600 pounds...pretty quick little car.

My Son was running running behind us in his short bed regular cab 2003 Hemi truck. Further down we ran into about a 2005 Chevy SS Silverado extra cab pickup. Cody ran him from 60-110 and jumped him by 1/2 a truck and held that all the way to 110.

Good runs. They actually only weigh about 150-200lbs less than their 335i brethren, so they aren't that much quicker. But they are cool little cars, for sure. And they're twin-turbo inline 6s .

What he said. And those little 135i bimmers weigh about 3400lbs IIRC. Too damn heavy for a little RWD car like that. At about 3000lbs they would be a real street mauler though.

Wow, that is some compact weight there. Would not have thought they were that heavy...hell that is more than my car weighs.

Well it is a bmw....If these 1 series are like the others, they have the leather (well, fake ones like the 3 series I think), climate control, all that other good fancy stuff. I know the 335i s are sweet as hell on the inside, am not totally sure how the smaller 135i is. If these are a stripper version, then they need to work on something to get the weight down imo.

3300ish (depends on options)
280/280ish stock
Traps in the 102-105 range stock

They are very easy to modify with various chips that increase the boost. Without the runflats and a mild tune (chip) they will run in the high 12's at the 107-111 range.

Full tuned ones (335i/135i) (DP, intake, catless exhaust and 93 oct programs) get to almost 400/400.

they do make the 135 w/twin turbos: 3.0-liter dual overhead cam (DOHC), 24-valve inline turbocharged 300-horsepower 6-cylinder engine with twin-turbo technology, piezo fuel injection, and Double-VANOS steplessly variable valve timing. oops, already been said

yeah and no room for swap either....tiny turbos too.

I'm sure somebody will do it, but this isn't a turbo swap car at it's price. There are much faster stock cars or cheaper to make fast cars out there.

Here is a small vid of my car with SSTT tune.

I have a question for the anybody who knows GTO's.

I pulled away from on the other night from 80-140. It wasn't what I expected. By 140 I was 4 cars ahead. All I can think is it was a stock 04.

anyone?

LS2/6liters have hoodscoops and dual exhaust. Otherwise it was likely a 5.7 liter.

Performance sounds about right for a 5.7. Get yourself a JB3 from burgertuning.com and go find something with some guts. Probably a little under 20% more output than an SSTT

Youtube - SSTT and a JB3 - times from 40-130 on an otherwise stock 135

Thanks for the hoodscope/dual tip.

It's my wife's daily driver so SSTT is enough for a little bump in power without the service headaches. BMW is a PIA about tuning and warranty.

Got your PM and am aware of those sites.
