Default Worth it to only upgrade fuel rails?

I cant help but look at nice new shiny fuel rails and think that the lines that would be connected to them are too small. Right from the tank it seems as if the fuel is going through little lines, and that fuel rails wont really help get that much more fuel to the injectors. Am i totally wrong or do alot of people run nice braided steel lines right from there tanks?

3/8 feed lines are plenty for most street cars, larger diameter does help the fuel flow better and stay cooler but it's not needed at all. Running braided lines all the way up has been done, but it's a very expensive option. Also braided lines tend to sweat unless you get kevlar or teflon lined.
