Hot cam kit includes all spring hardware if you were to buy that.

Most will tell you 1.7s are a mistake also... ...so you know its coming.

I'm going with the Crane 10308 kit when I cam mine.

Crane 10308-1 Kit. Do not use the springs in the kit because the 1.7's will put the lift rating of the cam beyond what the springs are capable of handling which will create issues.

"Stealth", have you been able to do any more work on your "noisy lifter" issues?

Nope I haven't, just moved up to school a couple weeks ago. I took the car to a local engine builder and he said if I put 1/2" turn preload on them it would be quiet. Bret Bauer and others told me that wont solve the issue so Im going to buy some aluminum valve covers to keep the noise in and if there still loud I'll play with the valves again over christmas and hope it works!

How much lift will the Crane springs handle?

So .600 will hold the 1.7's and the hotcam with no issues?

Yeah, they'd be able to handle a decently big cam with 1.7's even. The lift on the hotcam with 1.7's will be at .558".
