It was an E46 model if that helps any.

So I was on my way home tonight, not really looking for anything -- but hoping I was about to get off my exit which was around another mile up the freeway when I see a nice looking black M3. It most certainly had exhaust done and some fatter tires out the back. Really can't speak for any motor work since I couldn't get the guy to slow down after the race.

Well I get next to this guy around 70mph or so and downshift to third. As soon as he heard me downshift he took off -- gaining maybe 1/4 car, a mere moment later I hit the gas and began my pull back. I nailed fourth and continuted to pull. I shut down around 125, maybe 130 -- a good 4/5 cars ahead. He continued to fly ahead, well after I hit the brakes... wanted nothing to do me me

I clearly missed my exit so I followed him on the next highway to see if I could get him to slow down a bit and get a lower mph run it. Alas it was not meant to be, the second I got next to him again, this time closer to 80mph (since he was still flying around) he took off immediately. I was thankfully ready and already in third gear (somewhere around 5k rpms already -- 3.42 gears). I immediately punched it and once again put about 4 cars on him by around 130 or so.

He was solo as far as I can tell, I had a passenger with me, roughly 190lbs. I was rather happy with the result, they run mid/low 13's stock as well don't they? 333hp I hope they're decently quick

Yeah, they run low-mid 13s stock, and trap right around what a stock LS1 traps. Good kill

Good kill man, they are actually more fun to race from a dig or slower speed since they do have great low/mid power but I have never tried to run one from above 50 so no doubt they cant hang above that. They stick to stock LS1's pretty good.

The M3s are kind of lacking at higher speed. My friend test drove one, a beast off the line, but dies fairly quickly it seemed to us.

Yes, as of right now all I have done is the basic bolton's w/ a tune. Dyno is in the future (hopeuflly next month). I was suprised with how quick I pulled... and my passenger was even more suprised then I was.

I just wish I knew what (if anything) else he had done to the car, after the race the guy was like speed racer/energizer bunny.... he just kept going.... and going.... and going

You can tell I'm modded by reading my signature, the M3 car/driver doesn't have that luxury does it/he? So I noted that in the title... not trying to be decieving or anything.

There was one running at the track here running low 14s, like 14.0, but only trapping 99-100 mph. Guess he was totally stock.

well they have a really high compression ratio so unless he is running race gas meth or has a built motor you should be fine.

Must have been an older one than I raced, the E46's are low 13 second cars from what I read on their forums.

No this was an E46 as well. Ive never seen a stocker run that fast.

Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean they aren't capable of it. There are tons of cars that I've seen not run to their full potential, or even close to it. They're capable of running times very close to LS1s.
